You can try. It won’t be as good as an actual tennis racket. Firstly, a tennis court is considerably bigger than a squash court so it helps to have a racket with a moderately large surface area so that you have more control over the ball. As a squash racket has a smaller head, you will probably have a disadvantage compared to your opponent. I wouldn’t recommend it!

Can you play Tennis using a Squash racket?
I need some help buying a Squash racket?
I’m starting squash soon and have played with a friend who is quite good, so I’ve learned about the sport. I played with her Dunlop Ice Tour racket which weighed 135g.
It was really nice to play with although I did notice that, being a beginner and not having perfect technique, I lacked full power in my shots. It wasn’t too big of a deal because I am quite strong and can hit hard but I’m not willing to pay $75 for my first racket.
Any ideas for a decent, not too expensive squash racket?
I just need it to solidly last 3 months and if I liked the sport and decide to play seriously I’ll spend some more… Thanks!
home depot or ebay or walmart

Soft Squash or Tennis Racket Grips?
Hi, I currently use the dunlop hydramax tour grip on my squash racket, but have recently been getting a sore thumb.
Does anybody know of a good soft/padded tennis or squash racket grip that they could recommend?
Thanks
In my opinion you should just give it time and develop the strong skin and it won’t feel sore later. Even very soft grips may still give you sores but you can try looking through some of these soft grips: http://www.midwestsports.com/tennis-overgrips/c/40001/
Where can I find the source for the material-engineering of a squash racket?
including its material’s features (structure, processing, properties)?
Squash rackets are made from carbon fibre these days but in the past have been made from extruded aluminium and wood.
I would get some books on carbon fibre / composite materials and also a book on aluminium extruding and metal forming.
Squash with a racketball racket?
A while ago, my friend and I got racketball rackets and started to play racketball, but we both didnt like it. Then we tried squash. We’ve been playing squash for a while now, but we use our racketball rackets. Today One of my strings broke on my racket, so I was wondering if it would be ok to just restring the racket and continue using it for squash, or should I get an actual squash racket?
In singles squash the ball does not have much bounce. A squash racquet is longer than a racquet ball racquet and will greatly improve your ablility to reach the ball and hit it harder. Look on ebay for a used squash racquet….
If I get a tennis grip will it fit a squash and badminton racket too ?
It will fit but there will be excess grip left,,, so if u want to use a tennis grip for a badminton/squash racquet, i recommend u cut a bit of at the start,,,,,not were the sticky thing at the end!!, or u might ruin the grip and it might not stick.

Any recommendations ?
Thanks tojours for replying. I’m an intermediate player, I play once or twice a week within my university, so I’m not an amateur yet not a professional.
My priorities in a racket is that it doesn’t break easily, big enough headsize, shots are strong and have control. I don’t worry about the weight, price, etc.
I like the Dunlop Aerogel 4D Ultimate, but I heard it breaks easily. I also like the Wilson K Factor Blade FX, and the Wilson K Factor Sonix FX, Are the BLX ones better for me ?
I’ve had both Dunlop and Wilson. I actually prefer Head and Prince better than the formers. I play and compete with Head’s Cyano 115. It’s one of the lightest racquets out there and I have a lot of control in my play. I’ve previously owned Wilson’s One20 BLX. Dunlop’s Aerogel 4D Elite is another good racquet. I highly suggest all of those.
It all really depends how advanced you are in squash. If your a beginner, you don’t need an expensive racquet. I suggest going with the Prince Starer Pack because it comes with a racquet, goggles, blue ball, and carrying case. If your a beginner, look for a heavier racquet >155grams. If your more advanced look for a lighter racquet <140grams.
edit: All lighter racquets do break easier, but they are the only type of racquet that will give you the necessary amount of control. I suggest you buy two of the same racquets, that way if a racquet does break, you have a spare. I didn’t have a Dunlop Aerogel 4D Ultimate, but I did own the 4D Elite, and it seemed sturdy. The strings broke on one occasion, but that was simple enough to fix. I have a friend who has the Ultimate and hers did snap in half, but it was because she was being careless.
My preference over the ones you mentioned is the Dunlop Aerogel, but the others you mentioned are fine. I’ve never played with the Wilson K Factor Sonix FX, but I have demoed the Blade FX and it was a good racquet, the Sonix is also an FX series racquet, so it probably preforms around the same level. FX racquets are stiffer, which I really liked because they gave me more control. I really preferred the BLX over the FX, though, because my shots felt a lot smoother and the grip has more shock absorption.
I suggest demoing each racquet and hit yourself rails for an hour or so to get a feel for each racquet. If you have a friend around, play a match and see which you prefer. I still say that the Head Cyano is still the way to go, but the ones you named are very good racquets too.

The "real" squash racquet is the 2nd link. The first one is for racquetball, which is completely different. A good beginner racquet would be the Prince Starter Kit. It’s about $70 and it comes with a racquet, ball, goggles, and racquet case. Avoid the light and expensive racquets until you get better.

what’s the lightest squash racket there is?
I’m looking for a new squash racket, it needs to be light… and I mean REALLY light, what’s out there which fits this description? I’ve had some bad experiences with squash racket which claim to be light but when they arrive, they end up heavy… so please don’t recommend anything you haven’t personally tried,
Thanks
I currently train and compete with Head’s Cyano 115. It weighs in at 115 grams and not only is it extremely lightweight, but it feels lightweight when I use it, too. I love it! I definitely have more power and control over the ball and my game has definitely improved! Most racquets weight in at around 140 grams to 165 grams, so this is much lighter than your typical racquet!
I have been playing squash for the last 9 years and I love the sport. I compete in the winter, but I train year round. I definitely recommend this racquet for you, especially if your looking for something really light.

looking for lightweight squash racquet, (lighter the better), please any one can advise ? the lightest racket?

Squash Rackets?
Ive just started to play squash and want to purchase my own racket. Theres a sale on all squash rackets on amazon.co.uk at the moment – and all are going pretty cheap! Thing is, i have no idea which to buy. Any recommendations? What about good makes? What about titanium models – what are they like? I want something that will last me through uni (starting next year).
Thanks.
I’ve been playing for a long time now, for me it’s got to be prince, especially the tt series.
Though it’s all down to personal preference really.

Recommended squash rackets?
Recently broke my wilson hyper hammer squash racket which weighed 110g. I wanted to buy the same one again, but wilson don’t manufacture it anymore, so what rackets would people recommend?
Hi Faiz,
The racket that immediately springs to mind is the Head 115 CT. It is lightweight and weighted head heavy, like the Hyper Hammer. It packs a lot of power and has good touch as well. In that sort of weight, you might also like the Harrow Vibe at 125g strung weight (110g unstrung, same as HH) or Dunlop Evolution 120 (a little too light for my liking though this one).
is there any squash courts that provide rental services for squash balls and racket? and how much is the cost?
In Budapest almost all squash courts have racket and ball rental. The racket is around 2-3 USD (500HUF) the ball is somewhat cheaper (around 200HUF)
So the answer is yes, however I doubt that it’s much helpful for you…
What should I wear for squash?
I already have non – marking all white court/tennis shoes and a squash racket. I’m gonna wear a t – shirt. But sweats? Or shorts? Anything else?
Depends on weather, either sweats or shorts are fine. Have fun
Can tennis racket be used to play squash?
If you have your own court,of course you can
use not only a tennis racket but even a baseball
bat.For a ball you can use a soccer ball. You can start a new sport mixing all balls bats
rackets etc.making up your own rules and become the first world champion (because nobody else would know what the heck is going
on).Have a ball.
WHAT SQUASH RACKET SHOULD I GET?
So, what would you:
A) have for your self, whats your style of playing?
B) have if you was me.. Im looking at the Wilson (K) factor series.. My style of play is different in different situations, as i over head serve id say im more of a power player but off the side wall shots are what im good at so placement is key to my play also.
Money isnt an option so use that for both answers, im interested to see what you guys would get. Also interested in knowing what proffesionals use, like what weight, balance, throat, strings + beam. Thanks guys.
PEOPLE THAT ARE STUPID DON’T NEED TO GET SQUASH RACKETS.

What is the minimum and maximum pressure for stringing squash rackets?
What "scale" is used to distinguish between "control" vs "power"?
I think there are different pressures for vertical and horizontal strings.
Which is a recommended pressure for balance between control and power?
I’m seeing anywhere from 26 – 28 typically. 26 for more power 28 for more control. This will vary with the gauge of string that you use going from a 16 to a 17 gauge or a 17 to an 18 may require you to drop tension from 27 to 24 to maintain the same feel and power. If you string an oversize frame it will be different again. If you look at the recommended tension range on packages they range from 18-40.Hope these three sites help.

Head Metallix 130 or 140 squash racket?
I demoed both racquets the other day and I thought they were both good. I can’t decide on which one I liked more though. The Metallix 130 was nice when hitting but seemed too powerful, and the 140 wasn’t as nice (when hitting) but still fine, and it seemed to be powerful but with more control. Would the 150 be good because it is the same shape of the 130, so it would swing like it, just heavier? Any opinions? Thanks!
I say you should demo the 150, and, if it’s not the best in your opinion, go with the 130.
Which squash racket should I get?
I am thinking of getting a head liquid metal heat or liquidmetal 120 or mabye a head flexpoint 130 or flexpoint laser. I would like a rcket that does not break and which I can hit hard with.
Which one is best?
Oh yeah, for slipknots stupid answer, I am not a ametuar and play quite agresively but try to be accurate and vary shots
It is best to check it out and try it before you buy it.
Head Dynasty 660 is a tennis racket or a squash racket?
it is a squash racket
I’ve just bought a Browning Nanotec Ti 150 Squash Racket. Are they any good and has anyone used one of them?
RRP was supposedly £190 but can’t find them for sale anywhere other than Ebay. Are Browning a decent make? Is the racket good to play with?
Might have made more sense to have asked these questions before you bought it!
Which Squash Racket to buy?
I have the choice between 3 Squash rackets. These are the Wilson Hyper Hammer 120PH, the Head i.110 or the Prince Triple Threat (TT) Sovereign. Cannot try out any of these before purchase so was wondering if anyone could recommend one to me. The Wilson and the Head are the same price but the Prince is £20 more expensive.
Thanks
Id stick with the Head
its not the racket its the user !!!
What type squash racket?
Hi.
I have a nano carbon and a maxed 250. The nano carbon I can smash into pieces and the ball will not hit very hard. I have restrung it 3 times now. The maxed I bought for R180 and I hit quite nicely with it. The stringing is different. I have become quite good with squash now and want to buy a racket that is at the price of about 600 t0 700 rand. This is what the characteristics of the racket has to be
I want the racket to hit the ball hard. Good string tension. What I mean by this is that when I hit the ball the strings must make me hit it much harder.
The stringing must not break easily.
The racket has to be durable
It has to be a reccomended weight.
It must have a good grip
My nano carbons grip suck
Some rackets I have thought about is the head liquid metal and flexpoints
The wilson hammer
The prince o3
And the dunlop aerogel
What would you reccomend is the best for that price?
I have a Head flexpoint & I LOVE it. It has power to burn. You won’t go wrong with this one – trust me!!
String choice is another story. The correct choice will give you power & durability, but string it at the lowest recommended tension. That will give you extra power. The Head RIP Perfect Power would be the best choice for this racket.
Which squash racket is best for me?
I am 15yrs and 2 months old and I have been playing squash since I was 9yrs old. I play tennis since I was 6yrs old.) I am looking for a squash racket that is perfect for me. Here is what I am like playing:

Game play: Use a lot of power, Need a bit more control for drop shots.
If you can advise me on which racket to buy and/or suggest a site which takes criteria such as game play into account and generates what type of racket I need (like one of those surveys that asks questions about dogs and then chooses the right dog for you.)
