    hello …

    @Stuffcakes
    hello,
    occasionaly you will see a player use a hint of topspin or even a kind of diagonal topspin (topspin + sidespin) to delicately get the ball to hug the side wall for a dropshot, but for all intense and purposes they don’t use topspin

    this video is not …
    this video is not in chronological order. In the 5th the score goes from 11 all to 11-10 and time times goes back from 108 mins to 107.

    @mrbobevans

    To be honest, i am not in the scene for that long. Only recently i watched more and more games. I am currently trained by a trainer that was and is quite well ranked on national and international ranking. He taught me the grip and movement. As for myself i have put a lot of time in tennis and table tennis as well, so i can compare techniques quite easily =)

    I appreciate your …
    I appreciate your comments. Has pro squash become more power games as compared to the Power, Nicol years?

    Its …
    @mrbobevans

    Its a very open grip, not like the tennis topspin grip. Also, topspin isnt used in squash. You sometimes see some slices, but those dont really contain any backspin.

    American style …
    American style squash is point for every rally and is upto 11 where english style squash is serve then point upto 9 – differnt tournaments do different styles

    hahaha… that’s so harsh – 115mins of hardcore squash and the trophys broken… poor show Liverpool!

  11. poopootae says:

    Before, you score …
    Before, you score by serve, which went to 9. But now you score just by rally. This is now up to 11. Apparently they changed this rule a few years ago.

    That should have …
    That should have been a stroke when Palmer hit it down the middle and therefore Willstrop would have won! Ref lost his bollox!

    yea its all about …
    yea its all about slowly building a lead with consecutive tight, well placed shots

    i agree, you don’t …
    i agree, you don’t need about any power to hit the ball very fast, it’s all about the movement

  17. squashkid6 says:

    the game has almost …
    the game has almost nothing to do with power, unlike tennis you are very unlikely to win a point with one great shot or a monster forehand, you have to construct a point with three or four great shots just to win one point. Although they are hitting the ball quite hard, it has very little to do with who will win the match.

  18. mrbobevans says:

    Are they sometimes …
    Are they sometimes using an Eastern forehand grip on shots they want to flatten out in tennis?

    How often do they flatten out their strokes, and will they use topsin during points.

  19. mrbobevans says:

    I don’t know too …
    I don’t know too much about squash, don’t be mad at me for being a tennis player. Anyway, watching these guys play seems more of a power game in comparison to Nicol and Power. I know tennis has become more of a power game even when compared to Agassi, Edberg or Sampras. These guys look bigger than White, Power or Nicol. Has the technology caused more power in the game.

  23. redcereal12 says:

    ahh he ref missed 2 …
    ahh he ref missed 2 in a row
    the one that gave willstrop match ball was a let, matchball should have been a stroke

    crosscourt nick …
    crosscourt nick from Palmer… very tough one indeed

  25. jonathonpower6666 says:

    there is no such …
    there is no such thing as luck… if he hit that “lucky” nick is just because he hit it 20000 times throughout all his training days
