True but i think Matthews is getting better, his ranking is creeping up (4th atm) and hes doing better against people like Gaultier than he used to.

they both want to be the british number 1 so in my eye’s they are rivals.i agree at the moment matthews is better than willstrop but you’ll find the the tide will turn soon.matthews is a grinder, willstrope shot selection is sometimes questionable and to predictable,(not that i’m saying i’d even get a point of him.)but willstrope’s ranking will go up next year.

i’ve seen willstrop take out nick matthew in about 25 minutes 3-0.all great rivals have a couple of wins then momentam swings to the other player.thats the beauty of squash .

Yeah, Willstrop needs to learn to win without running. He should just hit a perfect rolling nick off every single shot. Good idea!
Willstrop is …
Willstrop is working way too hard to win points. If he has to kill himself again and again to win rallies, he will inevitably lose to a fit player like Matthew. With his racket skills and reach, James should not be running that much.
