Why is squash not in the olympics?

And why is football and tennis IN the olympics.
Surley if the olympic gold is not the biggest medal in that sport then it should not be in the olympics, e.g tennis-wimbledon, football-world cup, champions league

A certain percentage of Olympic participating countries need to have national associations affiliated with the Olympics to start with, then it’s put to a vote by the Olympic board members, so it’s difficult for some sports whose strength lies in a few countries to get in to the schedule.

Go to page 86..it’s pdf and it’s the official Olympics rules and regs..your answer is here.

I would of thought they would have Squash or racquetball as they call it in the states in the olympics. The IOC had to knock some sports out of the games and sadly squash was one of them. It would of being our chance of getting a medal.
Maybe they will include it again sometime in the future.
