    I think this drill …
I think this drill is OK if one is a beginner, but once one has some experience, I think there are two better ways to do this. One is to stand at the T, hit a set up shot, and then hit that into the nice, That’s much better practice, because it simulates much better what happens in a game.

The other way is as a volley. This is much more difficult, but if you can get to the point to where you can control the volley, you’ll find controlling it when it bounces will be a piece of cake.

    Not the nick, you …
Not the nick, you for like 2/13

If the odds of you hitting the god nick are 2 in 13 then don’t do it, expert, yeah right, and when you practice them don’t hit it when throwing a ball up use the corner to hit it up and then finish it.

These drills are not for the pro…they are more aimed at gumbies like me who do not have coaching opportunities present often. I’m a middle player in my club and any hint I can get, drill I can practice, will help my game. You can only go so far on your native talents (or lack of …)

    OMG..I usually …
OMG..I usually watch this guy for fun, his advice is always wrong, but this one has gone too far. Expert Village??

First, the drill is useless cause the ball would neeever be at shoulder height fully static in the air, try hitting the nick from a boast…totally different story.

To the expert guy: If you can’t consistently find the nick with a cold ball in a cold court when you are feeding (sorry but that is not a lob!!) yourself on the front court, then please don’t call yourself an expert!

    back hand serve? …
back hand serve? this drill kinda sucks anyway becuase how often due you get a ball right there in the center. usually then you can win easy without even having to nick.

    seconded. this …
seconded. this drill works even better in pairs. crosscourt the ball to your partner, who will attack the nick then crosscourt it back to you. keep the pace off the crosscourts for starters then as the skill builds so increase the pace. easy(ish)!!!

    I disrecommend …
I disrecommend tossing up the ball, since you’ll never gonna get such a ball movement. What I recommend is either hitting a very high boast on the other side, or cross volleying a high butterfly.
