Don’t be confused. You can use anything to play tennis, as long as this thing you choose to use is capable of hitting a ball. You could try tree branches, a baseball bat, small to medium-sized animals, your little brother, bicycle parts, or even crude weapons forged from impure types of brass. Have a blast.

Clearly these people have no idea what their talking about. Squash rackets are much lighter than tennis rackets. But the answer is no, you can’t. The tension of the string on the two rackets is way different, and a squash racket couldn’t handle the tennis ball. Also, the head of a squash racket is much smaller, and too narrow to properly hit a tennis ball. Squash racket for squash, tennis rackets for tennis, racquetball rackets for racquetball, ping pong paddles for ping pong, and badminton rackets for badminton

In general you can use a heavier racket to play a sport with lighter racket. For example I play pingpong using tennis racket against my son. It’s fun and I don’t have to bend over to pickup the ball :)

So squash racket would be hard to play tennis with, just like trying to hit tennis ball with badminton racket – it is not designed to handle the weight of tennis balls.

A lot of these answers are very oblivious. Squash racquets are much lighter than tennis racquets and squash balls are much lighter than tennis balls. While squash racquets are not designed to hit a tennis ball, I have used them, on occasion, to play tennis. I completely do not recommend this because tennis balls can break the strings of a squash racquet quickly, but if you are desperate for a racquet and only have a squash racquet in hand, use it.

Keep in mind that squash is a different sport than tennis. It is played in a different court with different balls, using different muscles, with different rules. It’s best to use a tennis racquet to play tennis.

You could be I think you’d probably hurt your arm or wrist. I squash racquet is much lighter and designed for the lighter, smaller, squash ball. The hitting surface on a squash racquet is smaller too…
