how long does a squash plant take to produce after it flowers?

I have never had a garden before and I’m excited to eat out of it. After my squash starts to bloom how long before i get squash?

When the flower starts to dry up the squash will start growing, depending on how much you water usually 5-10 days

The flowers produce the fruit, if there is a full bloom but no produce pluck it. You will see as the plants mature the fruit will develop with the bloom at the end. In the beginning pull any fruit that is small as it will help get the plant to produce bigger fruit as the days go bye. Most people new to gardening are afraid to do this but believe me it works.

Squash produce abundantly. Sometimes you can actally see the squash before the flower fades — depending on variety. Check this veggie daily because you can see visible growth on a daily basis. Many people like to wait until the squash is quite large to harvest — 10 days or so. I prefer the smaller and much more tender plants, so 5 or 6 days is good for me.

if you will look closely, there will be some long bloomed stems and some shorter stems with squash already on them with a bloom on the end!the long ones are male and the ones with squash are the females!usually the squash should start putting the female ones on within about a week or less after the male flowers start to bloom!
